Modern biomolecular NMRfacility includes state-of-the-art instrumentation a broad spectrum of optimized NMR experiments, and computational resources for data processing & interpretation. It provides NMR data collection and analysis as an analytical service. However, we encourage investigators to interact with the facility on a collaborative basis. To this end, we provide extensive training for users, as well as other consulting services. Investigators may submit samples & the facility will run NMR spectra and assist in data interpretation. There are on-line instructions for NMR sample preparation. The NMR time used will charged at the normal rate. This service will be provided for projects of limited scope and may also be limited by the availability of operator time. For projects beyond the scope of a simple analytical service like structure determination, the facility will provide assistance on a collaborative basis. Users will be billed only for the NMR time used by their project.

Surfactants are amphiphilic molecules, consisting of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic regions. These substances are known to play a vital role in many processes of interest in both fundamental and applied sciences. Non-ionic surfactants are widely used in areas such as food, pharmaceuticals, personal care & household or industrial detergents because of their ability to influence the properties of surfaces and interfaces. Positive attributes that include biodegradability and non-toxicity make sugar & sugar alcohol-based surfactants particularly appealing. However, their application has been previously limited due to problems with the preparation of the sugar/sugar alcohol esters. This technology solves this major limitation and makes the expanded large scale commercial application of this useful class of molecules practical. Non-ionic surfactants are used in food, pharmaceuticals, household and industrial detergents. It is useful in markets such as the oil recovery, environmental detoxification and agriculture

By baculovirus, is meant any baculovirus of the family Baculoviridae, such as a nuclear polyhedrosis virus (NPV). Baculoviruses are a large group of evolutionarily related viruses, which infect only arthropods, indeed, some baculoviruses only infect insects that are pests of commercially important agricultural & forestry crops, while others are known, that specifically infect other insect pests. Since baculoviruses infect only arthropods, they pose little or no risk to humans or the environment. Baculoviruses may be occluded or non-occluded. The nuclear polyhedrosis viruses (NPV) are one baculovirus subgroup, which are occluded. That is, a characteristic feature of the NPV group is that many virions are embedded in a crystalline protein matrix referred to as an occlusion body. Examples of NPVs include Lymantria dispar NPV (gypsy moth NPV), Autographa californica MNPV, Anagrapha falcifera NPV (celery looper NPV), Spodoptera litturalis NPV, Spodoptera frugiperda NPV, Heliothis armigera NPV, Mamestra brassicae NPV, Choristoneura fumiferana NPV, Trichoplusia ni NPV, Heliocoverpa zea NPV and Rachiplusia ou NPV. For field use occluded viruses are preferable due to their greater stability since the viral polyhedrin coat provides protection for the enclosed infectious nucleocapsids. Littovir is a nucleopolyhedrosis virus (NPV) product introduced by Andermatt Biocontrol for the control of the Egyptian cotton leafworm (Spodoptera littoralis), one of the most serious pests worldwide & a particular problem in cotton, vegetables & cereals. Littovir is the sixth baculovirus product produced and distributed worldwide by Andermatt Biocontrol.

Organic manure improves soil quality. Continuous addition of manures, such as farm yard manure & compost in soil increased soil organic carbon content, as well as population of microorganisms, playing an important role in nitrogen & phosphorus transformations. Non-edible oil cakes, such as Neem cake and Mahua-cake regulated the process of ammonification & nitrification & thus helped in increasing fertilizer nitrogen use efficiency. Crop residue incorporation in situ 3 to 4 weeks prior to the sowing of crops in a sequence did not adversely affect its crop yield. In acid soils, crop residue recycling improved pH and organic matter content. Green biomass of weeds like Eupatorium, Lantana & Ipomea and leaves of Karanj & water hyacinth proved a good source of organic matter & nutrients for use in agriculture. Organic agriculture offers trade opportunities for farmers in the developing and developed countries. This market of organic products is expected to grow globally in the coming years and high growth rates over the medium term (from 10-15 to 25-30 %) are expected. Organic farming is being advocated in certain areas and selected crops having export potential. Thus there is an urgent need to devise organic produce protocols and package of practices for different agro-eco regions by combining existing ITK & modern technological approaches
