The FL500 laser diode driver is ideal for driving low power laser diodes where low noise is critical. Low leakage current (150 µA) makes it ideal for driving most VCSELs. It operates from 3 to 12 V, so it is compatible with Li+ battery operation. It can be configured as two totally independent 250 mA drivers or a single 500 mA driver. These are compatible with Type A or B laser diodes. Because of its small size and low noise, it is often used in handheld devices & spectroscopy systems. The base unit operates in constant current (CC) mode. The only external components required are a power supply, an analog control voltage, laser and optional filtering circuitry. The HTC temperature controllers are easily configured for any design. Virtually any type of temperature sensor can be used with the HTC and a built in sensor bias current source simplifies use with resistive temperature sensors. The independently adjustable proportional gain (P) and integrator time constant (I) can be modified to optimize temperature overshoot & stability. A single resistor sets the maximum output current to load. The HTC1500 has proven reliable in such diverse fields as medical, defense, communications and manufacturing. The HTC is particularly suited to applications where temperature is scanned across ambience.
