Profile: Tissue Culture Biologicals is a manufacturer of fetal bovine serum. Fetal bovine serum is collected by cardiac puncture closed system. Serum is dialyzed against normal saline using a 10,000 MW cutoff membrane, and monitoring the glucose content. Serum is screened for virus and mycoplasma. Equine plasma is prepared by collecting blood into an anti-coagulant (such as citrate), and centrifuging to remove the blood cells.
