Profile: The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology focuses on mammalian and plant biology. Biomedical projects are pursued on virology, immunology, structural biology & in the field of malaria, both in basic research & vaccine & drug development of technologies for biopharmaceuticals & for the diagnosis of infectious diseases. In the plant biology area, our research projects address the study of insect resistance & biopesticidals, abiotic & biotic plant stresses & crop improvement through biotransformation.
