Profile: Synaptic Research LLC is a biotechnology company that develops practical applications of the ubiquitin system in living cells, especially for the treatment of toxin-related diseases. We develop a designer ubiquitin ligase engineered to attach ubiquitin to a target protein of choice. We are engaged in the construction of designer ubiquitin ligases to selectively control the ubiquitin system and thereby treat diseases, starting with the development of a post-exposure therapeutic for botulism. We also develop methods to identify the presence of the botulinum toxin, using reliable indicators.
