AMV reverse transcriptase synthesizes cDNA from single stranded RNA. The specific activity of transcriptase is 40000-50000 units per mg. It is qualified for cDNA synthesis and RT-PCR. AMV reverse transcriptase is also available in a trehalose-based storage buffer, which is identical to the standard glycerol-based storage buffer except that 1.0 M trehalose is substituted for 50% glycerol. This product is suited for the development of lyophilized preparations. T7 RNA polymerase catalyzes the synthesis of RNA in the presence of double-stranded DNA containing a T7 promoter sequence.
