The choice of sinker or capsule weight depends on the type and size of the dosage form. Sinkers are available, coated or uncoated. PTFE (Teflon) coated sinkers work well with magnetic retrievers while uncoated type 316 stainless steel sinkers are more durable. The Pharma Alliance Optimal disintegration tester is used for testing the disintegration time of the tablets, capsules and other solid dosage forms. The DI-200-AL is designed to meet the specification of USP, DAB and EUR Pharmacopoeia. DI-200-AL offers easy loading of baskets with swivel free movement through a snap-click mechanism for attaching and removal of baskets. A special cam-drive ensures jerk-free movement. The programmable timer can be set from seconds to minutes and from minutes to hours, which ensures that the long & the short duration test can be carried out on the same machine. At the end of the test, the baskets are parked automatically at the top position giving an alarm. Illumination is provided at the base of the instrument for the visibility of the disintegration process of the test samples. The temperature can be programmed from 200° C to 39.90° C and can be controlled within 0.30° C. The external probe is provided to monitor and validate the bath or beaker temperature. The MHT-100 is a sophisticated portable instrument, which can measure the fracturing/breaking point of tablets ranging from 2 mm to 28 mm. The unit is battery operated which can be used to conduct inprocess testing of multiple simultaneous tablet presses.
