The Hedgehog antagonist program in collaboration with Genentech is our most advanced program with our lead small molecule candidate, GDC-0449, currently being tested for the study of metastatic basal cell carcinoma. The Hedgehog signaling pathway controls the development & growth of many kinds of tissues in the body by directly promoting cell division in specific cell types, and by activating other secondary signaling pathways that control the synthesis of growth factors & angiogenic factors. CUDC-305 is an orally available, small molecule inhibitor of heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90). The Hsp90 is a member of a class of proteins called molecular chaperones that play a fundamental role in the folding, stabilization and degradation of client proteins under normal or stressful conditions. In particular, this has become therapeutic target for the treatment of cancer because a majority of its client proteins are involved in cellular signaling transduction and have been identified as potential contributors to various aspects of cancer cell growth and survival. Our BMP-7 is a signaling protein that is synthesized in the kidney and has been implicated in the maintenance of the normal health of the kidney, skeleton, and the vascular system. This protein is used as a treatment to halt the progression & reverse the effects of chronic kidney disease.
