In addition, we focus on taste-masking and customized release profiles. Our tablets include Lyoc™, DuraSolv® and OraSolv®. Lyoc™ will disintegrate rapidly without water. As the tablet disintegrates, drug microparticles are released and swallowed as a slurry or suspension. Complete dissolution and systemic absorption occur in the gastrointestinal tract. We offer two transmucosal delivery technologies. In oral transmucosal technology, a dosage unit is administered by rotating and dissolving it against the oral mucosal tissue. The presence of a handle on the dosage form provides a convenient, simple mechanism for the patient to self-administer drugs to the oral cavity for either transmucosal or swallowed gastrointestinal absorption, depending on the drug application. Oravescent technology delivers drugs directly through the oral mucosa rather than in the gastrointestinal tract. Delivery of drugs in this manner reduces exposure of the drug to the acidic and enzymatic conditions of the gastrointestinal tract reducing the first-pass effect of the liver. Oral granules/powders can be dosed greater than one gram. Granules can be taste-masked, colored, flavored or formulated with a customized release profile. Granules are conveniently packaged in individual portable sachets, which can be poured directly into the mouth or sprinkled on food. We overcome the bitterness problem with taste-masking techniques.
