ERCC1 gene expression assay kit is based on a real-time PCR technology called "ADx-ARMS", which uses proprietary primers and probes to quantitate ERCC1 mRNA levels. The probe produces a fluorescent signal when hybridized to the PCR product. The ERCC1 test is a closed-tube assay test. PCR amplification and signal acquisition occur in a closed-tube, simplifyng the procedure considerably & avoiding the possibility of carry-over contamination. The assay is sensitive, accurate and produces a robust output (Ct) that is well-suited for quantitative analysis.
