Profile: Avestin, Inc. is a manufacturer of high pressure homogenizers and hand held extruders. Our high pressure homogenizers include C5, C3, D20, C50, C55, C160 and EmulsiFlex-C1000, filter/extruder & liposofast basic. Our EmulsiFlex-C5 homogenizer has an air/gas driven, high pressure pump. It is operated by a pneumatically controlled, dynamic valve. This has got a capacity of 1-5 l/hr. The entire instrument can be immersed in a temperature controlled water bath for heating and cooling purposes. After quick cleaning by hot water, ethanol & acetone, the equipment can be removed from the instrument by blowing the system out with compressed air/gas; then the inlet of the pump can be connected easily to steam at 120-130°C for sterilization. Our EmulsiFlex-D20 homogenizer is powered by an electric motor. This is pneumatically controlled by dynamic homogenizing valve. It has got a capacity of 20 l/hr. This can be controlled by the installation of an appropriate heat exchanger.
