Profile: Aquafix, Inc. is a biological laboratory producing custom bacterial and enzyme products to treat wastewater. Our technologies are non-toxic to humans, wildlife, plants, domestic animals and fish. Our formulas contain no synthetic chemicals, pesticides or genetically engineered organisms. Our products are custom-blended to meet the climate and aquatic habitat for which they are used. We work closely with our clients to be sure a very specific prescription is formulated for each unique need. We specialize in ammonia removal in wastewater/nitrification, midge fly & bloodworm examination and control of hydrogen sulfide & other odors. We use microorganisms to oxidize ammonia to nitrate. Our nitrification products are specifically adapted to work with the entire system, taking into account the chemistry used, any physical limitations of the plant, and the present microorganism population. Our VitaStim Nitrifier is used for wastewater treatment plants with critical issues with ammonia. It is widely used for fast recovery from loss of nitrification or to improve nitrification. Aquabac XT is a USEPA approved pesticide for controlling red worms and midgeflies in wastewater treatment. This can either be dripped into the head of the plant or before the clarifier. Initial treatment starts with adding 30 oz ounces per 100,000 gallons of water. This dose is metered into the system over a 2 to 3 day period. After a couple weeks back this dose down to 10 to 20 oz per 100,000 gallons. This dose is applied once per week until they are under control.
